KHNL/KGMB, Hawaii News Now, is seeking the right person for our hyper-local morning news program. Responsibilities include overseeing editorial content and monitoring the construction of newscast; monitoring and supervising daily show crew; monitor developing stories and crew logistics; provide coaching and training for line producers; coordinate scheduling of staff; responsible for our news product across all platforms to ensure quality control and maximize added value on Hawaii News Now. Will collaborate as a key part of the news management team to develop specials and other programming, such as sports, weather and election news specials. Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism or related area; significant experience in line producing; news management experience; Valid drivers license and clean driving abstract; Local Hawaii market TV news experience desired. This key newsroom manager must have proven news judgement, organizational skills and technical experience to oversee all logistics for our wide-ranging news coverage. Applicants must have 5-7 years of television news management experience, possess strong people skills, and ability to train and coach in shooting, editing and live truck operations. "Magic Mike," Steven Soderbergh's dramatic comedy set in the world of male strippers, will have its world premiere as the closing night program of the Los Angeles Film Festival next month. The film, which stars Matthew McConaughey and Channing Tatum, opens theatrically on June 29. The festival, June 14-24 at L.A. Live's Regal Cinemas downtown as well as at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and REDCAT, announced its lineup Tuesday morning. Film Independent, which presents the festival, previously had announced the opening night presentation (Woody Allen's "To Rome With Love") and its three galas ("Beasts of the Southern Wild," "Middle of Nowhere" and "Seeking a Friend for the End of the World"). The fest, sponsored by the Los Angeles Times, will screen more than 200 features, shorts and music videos. Alex Uranga Wins 2011 Nissan Reunion Bodyboard Pro!

Alex Uranga from the Basque Country in northern Spain is the winner of the   2011 Nissan Reunion Bodyboard Pro at Les Archers in Saint-Pierre, Reunion. Uranga, 22, who won the trials into the main event, took his winning streak all the way to the final, defeating Jake Stone from Dunsborough in Western Australia, with minutes to go, in glassy four to six foot waves. The Basque was carried on the shoulders of his brother and a friend from the water’s edge to the presentation area while the crowd whistled and cheered for him. He dedicated his win to all the people who believed in him back in the Basque Country. “It’s incredible”, said Alex Uranga, “I can’t put these feelings into words”. Jake Stone, 22, beat reigning world champion and local, Amaury Lavernhe in the quarterfinal and Frenchman Pierre-Louis Costes in the semifinal. Stone, was coming first until 2 minutes before the final siren when Uranga caught his winning wave, a big back flip scoring him a 7.6 out of a possible ten. “It
