The 2011 Jenks Pro
 
This year’s Jenks Pro is being used to raise the bar for the sport of Bodyboarding in the USA as the Jenks Pro moves to Seaside beach in test for next years World Tour aspirations. Needing to test a back up location before world tour approval, The Jenkinson’s Boardwalk corporation owner of Jenkinson’s Beach as well as the Seaside Casino Pier has approved use alongside the Municipal of Seaside to host the 2011 Jenks Pro. Jenkinson’s dual locations in Point Pleasant and in Seaside Heights, New Jersey is the perfect fit for the USBA’s growth towards the IBA world tour. This year will be the final test for the IBA world tour, proving that the Jenks Pro is ready for world tour status.
 
Currently the ratings on the USBA national tour consists of a two-way tie between the Hubbard brothers and potential for Jacob Romero and Josh Garner to overtake the Hubbard’s with a final showing at the Jenks Pro.
New sponsor Bubbakoo’s Burritos have taken the title sponsorship over for year one with the Jenks Pro and will be hosting the check in for the event on the 29th of August.

"Magic Mike," Steven Soderbergh's dramatic comedy set in the world of male strippers, will have its world premiere as the closing night program of the Los Angeles Film Festival next month. The film, which stars Matthew McConaughey and Channing Tatum, opens theatrically on June 29. The festival, June 14-24 at L.A. Live's Regal Cinemas downtown as well as at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and REDCAT, announced its lineup Tuesday morning. Film Independent, which presents the festival, previously had announced the opening night presentation (Woody Allen's "To Rome With Love") and its three galas ("Beasts of the Southern Wild," "Middle of Nowhere" and "Seeking a Friend for the End of the World"). The fest, sponsored by the Los Angeles Times, will screen more than 200 features, shorts and music videos. Alex Uranga Wins 2011 Nissan Reunion Bodyboard Pro!

Alex Uranga from the Basque Country in northern Spain is the winner of the   2011 Nissan Reunion Bodyboard Pro at Les Archers in Saint-Pierre, Reunion. Uranga, 22, who won the trials into the main event, took his winning streak all the way to the final, defeating Jake Stone from Dunsborough in Western Australia, with minutes to go, in glassy four to six foot waves. The Basque was carried on the shoulders of his brother and a friend from the water’s edge to the presentation area while the crowd whistled and cheered for him. He dedicated his win to all the people who believed in him back in the Basque Country. “It’s incredible”, said Alex Uranga, “I can’t put these feelings into words”. Jake Stone, 22, beat reigning world champion and local, Amaury Lavernhe in the quarterfinal and Frenchman Pierre-Louis Costes in the semifinal.
