Walk down the driveway next to the Dole structure out to Iwilei Rd.
Turn left on the sidewalk to enter the front door to TAG.



Synopsis & Character Descriptions
In the backyard of a Pittsburgh tenement in 1948, friends gather to mourn for a blues guitarist and singer who died just as his career was on the verge of taking off. Through flashbacks, the audience learns of the events of the past week that led to Floyd Barton’s death. Pulitzer Prize-winner August Wilson's "Seven Guitars" is the sixth chapter in the continuing theatrical saga that explores the hope, heartbreak, and heritage of the African-American experience in the twentieth century.

Parts for African-American actors ages 18-65. Three men, three women. Singing and musical abilities a definite plus, but not required for all roles.

Vera- Floyd’s ex-girlfriend who he is trying to win back
Louise- Vera’s friend and confidant. Suspicious of Floyd’s promises.
Ruby- Louise’s young niece who exudes sensuality
Canewell- harmonica player in Floyd’s band
Red- drummer in Floyd’s band
Hedley- the fiery neighborhood eccentric who treads the line between sanity and madness
The role of Floyd Barton has been pre-cast
