WAIMEA BAY, Oahu/Hawaii (Monday, November 22, 2010) –  Quiksilver.com/Eddie launched today with the announcement of the 28 coveted Invitees and 24 Alternates to the Quiksilver In Memory of Eddie Aikau, fueled by Monster Energy (an ASP Specialty Event). The event will be held on one day, between December 1, 2010 and February 28, 2011, when waves exceed the 20-foot minimum threshold and Invitees contend for the $98,000 prize purse. The traditional opening ceremony will take place at 2:30pm, December 2nd, 2010, at Waimea Bay. Monster Energy will be presenting the Monster Drop Award for the surfer who makes the most critical drop and rides out of it during the event. Save The Waves Coalition is proud to present Save The Waves Film Festival on Friday, November 12, at the historic Victoria Theatre in San Francisco. This second-annual festival is back by popular demand and features an evening of inspiring environmental films, adventure films and surf films. The evening kicks off with live music by local San Francisco superstars  My Peoples , (formerly Kapakahi) and a party to benefit Save The Waves. Save The Waves Film Festival is excited to announce the US premiere of Australian Dave Rastovich’s newest film,  Transparent Sea . The festival also features a special screening of  180˚ South  and question and answer sessions with the filmmakers and stars of the films. The festival short film program will be announced soon.

Jeff Hubbard Wins 2011 Zicatela Pro.

PUERTO ESCONDIDO, Oaxaca / Mexico (Saturday, Aug 13, 2011) -  Jeff Hubbard (HAW) has won his second IBA Grand Slam event of the year, in massive 10-12 foot surf at Puerto Escondido, Mexico. Hubbard, took out Ryan Hardy (Margaret River/AUS) in the Final, to win the 2011 AGIT/Turbo Zicatela Pro, presented by Found Boards, ID Boards and Colorada Surf.
