August 30, 2011 started off like any other bountiful late summer day in New Jersey, however the one major difference was that the Bubbakoo’s Jenks Pro was in town and David Hubbard flew in to Newark with one thing on his mind, take home the national title. Jeff Hubbard, his brother and seven times USBA national title holder, was not about to hand it to his younger brother and had flown in the day before from Portugal to protect not only his national title but his Jenks Pro 2010 title.

Uri Valadao's Back and Wins 2011 Sintra Portugal Pro.

Praia Grande, Sintra, Portugal (Sunday, Aug 28, 2011)- Uri Valadao (Salvador/BRA) has taken out the 2011 Sintra Portugal Pro, defeating fellow Brazilian, Eder Luciano in challenging 2-3 foot shifty waves at Praia Grande. For the majority of the final, Valadao had a strangle-hold on Luciano, who required a 9.25 to win. Valadao’s fast and controlled ARS, spin and roll combinations earned him an impressive 8.25 and a 7.5 ride. During his victory speech, Valadao elated: “I am so happy to win here for the third time. I love this event and the people here are amazing. It felt so good to be in a final with a fellow Brazilian, especially Eder.” Valadao was carried out of the water by a crowd of ecstatic supporters and friends. “Without all the Brazilian support here, I could not have won this battle. Needing to test a back up location before world tour approval, The Jenkinson’s Boardwalk corporation owner of Jenkinson’s Beach as well as the Seaside Casino Pier has approved use alongside the Municipal of Seaside to host the 2011 Jenks Pro. Jenkinson’s dual locations in Point Pleasant and in Seaside Heights, New Jersey is the perfect fit for the USBA’s growth towards the IBA world tour. Jeff Hubbard  (Hawaii) will face an inform  Jones Russell  (Port Mac/AUS), who started his campaign as a trialist on the first day of the event, victoriously riding his way to the final day of competition and guaranteed a result no worse than 5th. Russell managed to top the young South African, Jared Houston in his final heat of the day, showing that he has what it takes to possibly win this event. Eder Luciano  (Itapema/BRA) will have to defeat  Dave Winchester  (Mullumbimby/AUS) if he wants to make it out of Round 5 and keep his dream of winning the event alive. Luciano commented: “I look forward to compete against Winny tomorrow. The Sintra Portugal Pro Update.

Round 4 of the Ladies (WWT) and Round 1 and 2 of the Mens (GSS) of the 2011 Sintra Portugal Pro ran in building 4-6 foot shifty waves today. The first heat of the day saw Catarina Sousa (POR), winner of this event in 2009, take down Akiko Sato (JAP) in the first of the woman on woman Round 4 heats. Sousa commented: ” The first heat is always hard, but I won and now I am feeling confident for my next heat. Finding herself in the final 8 and on the opposite side of the draw to 2010 World Champion, Isabela Sousa (Ceara / BRA), the Portuguese competitor added,  “I hope to win this competition again”. Other highlights in the Ladies division saw Eunate Aguirre (ESP) and Isabela Sousa (Ceara / BRA) committing to powerful and fluid riding, executing big rolls and tight pocket spins to take out their Round 4 heats. The Billabong Pro Tahiti presented by Air Tahiti Nui will commence this Saturday, August 20, 2011, and with swell models projecting significant activity for the region, this year’s event is shaping up to be one of monumental importance. Event No. 5 of 11 on the ASP World Title season, the Billabong Pro Tahiti comes at a crucial time in both the 2011 ASP World Title race as well as for surfers looking to solidify their positions amongst the world’s elite before the September rotation. APEC 2011 Hawaii.

The White House announced November 14, 2009 that the 2011 APEC Leaders’ Meeting will take place in Honolulu on November 12 and 13, 2011. Leaders of APEC’s 21 economies are expected to attend. Themes for the meeting will be announced by the White House at a later date. A statement announcing the APEC meeting said,  “The President looks forward to welcoming his fellow APEC economy leaders to the state where he was born and to showcasing Hawaii's rich cultural heritage and hospitality.
